Because there is a chain attached to your loops or earbuds, when you shake your head you can hear the chain as it moves on the earpiece. For normal wear though (not shaking head) its not noticeable. 

Earring Version: Attaches to your glasses, and hangs from them. When worn, the accessory looks like earrings due to the charms attached.

Origin Chain Version: Small dainty origin chain but specifically designed for this function. The magnets on the chain can be used to connect the ear buds together. They will not attach to your glasses O rings.
